We approach consultancy as a space for critical reflection, problem-solving, and strategy building. We don’t assume we have all the answers. Instead, we ask the right questions to help you uncover what’s most relevant, sustainable, and ethical for your own context. We guide the process by helping you:

  • Clarify your priorities and values
  • Identify the structural or strategic roots of your challenges
  • Understand possible risks and implications
  • Reflect on decisions that protect both people and principles

Whether you’re seeking help with a security incident, internal conflict, strategic choices, or burnout, our approach centres around two key ideas:

  1. Asking grounded, strategic questions that help you find your own best path
  2. Providing relevant, context-aware resources to support implementation

When useful, we also provide concrete tools, examples, and templates, from security plans to decision-making protocols, so you can adapt proven methods to your own situation. These materials are carefully selected, relevant, and designed for activists and non-profit actors.

  • Signal for coordination (disappearing messages: 1 day or 1 week depending on risk)
  • Proton Drive for post-session documents or sensitive materials
  • Secure forms (if needed) to gather input in advance

All communication channels are chosen based on your risk level and preference.

To make the most of the consultancy, we ask that you:

  • Be as transparent as possible about your needs and concerns
  • Share relevant background information ahead of time, securely
  • Inform us in advance if you have security risks, time constraints, or internal challenges that we should know
  • Engage actively and honestly during the session – we’re here to support, not to judge

If you are requesting consultancy for a group or organisation, we encourage you to designate a focal point who can help coordinate the session and follow-up.

🧭 What to expect before, during, and after

Before the session

  • You’ll receive a Signal message with confirmation details, including date, time, session format, and access link.
  • We may request some context in advance (via a short form or Signal exchange) to help prepare.
  • Please let us know any accessibility or security concerns early.

During the session

  • The session will be conducted as a structured conversation.
  • We may use visual tools, screen sharing, or shared documents as needed.
  • You are free to keep your camera off or use aliases if you prefer anonymity.
  • All advice is tailored, and you are never pressured to take actions you’re uncomfortable with.

After the session

  • You’ll receive a note and a summary of key recommendations (if applicable), shared via Proton Drive.
  • You’re welcome to follow up with questions or request a second session.
  • We’ll invite you to complete a short, confidential feedback form to help improve our support.
