Training Info Pack

Welcome to our training sessions!

Whether you’re here to learn about holistic security, ethical activism, or team collaboration, this guide will help you understand how our trainings work, what tools we use, and how we protect your safety and privacy throughout the process.

🎯 Our training philosophy

At Activism Hub, our training is designed to be principle-driven, knowledge-based, and context-aware. We focus on foundational concepts, critical frameworks, and practical tools that support sustainable activism. We expect participants to engage seriously with the material. Our sessions are not simply skill-sharing events, they are part of a broader learning process that requires reflection, preparation, and continued self-study.

Substantive content: We draw from decades of movement experience, international best practices, and cross-disciplinary research. Our materials include case studies, in-depth guides, and critical analysis, not just tips and checklists.

Structured frameworks: We approach each topic with attention to its underlying principles, whether it’s holistic security, ethical strategy, or organisational culture. You won’t just learn what to do, but why it matters and how it connects to your broader goals.

Self-learning is essential: Our sessions are designed to spark learning. We expect participants to engage with reading materials and resources before and after sessions. If you’re looking for a one-off training, this may not be the right space.

Interactive, not instructional: Sessions are discussion-based. We assume participants have experience, questions, or cases to share. You are expected to contribute thoughtfully, and to apply what you learn to your context. We also encourage you to bring your questions, doubts, and real-life dilemmas, they’re part of the learning.

🙋‍♀️ What we ask from you

Before joining, please be prepared for the following:

  • Time commitment: Depending on the session, this may include pre-reads, post-session follow-up, or optional peer exchanges.
  • Active engagement: You will be asked to reflect critically on your practices, beliefs, and assumptions.
  • Respect for others: We expect honest engagement that honours lived experience and recognises that learning can be challenging.
  • Security awareness: If you are in a high-risk context, we expect you to inform us in advance so we can adapt accordingly.
  • Respect confidentiality: What’s shared in the session stays in the session. Don’t record or share session content unless we’ve agreed on it collectively.

🛠️ Tools and platforms we use

  • Google Meet for online sessions
  • Signal for coordination, using disappearing groups (1 day or 1 week, depending on risk level)
  • Proton Drive to share all post-session resources securely
